This bowl is coated with 4 coats of food safe finish and may be used as a serving dish. Cleaning requires only to hand wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Use of wooden or plastic serving utensils is highly recommended. The polyurethane finish does not require and additional oiling as with natural oil finishes. The bowl is not microwavable, not dishwasher safe and should not be used for extended refrigerated storage. Note that the color is expected to darken over time as that is normal with cherry.
