#1618 11 3/4" W X 3 1/2" H White Oak Bowl

White oak is a lovely wood that is mostly used for more casual applications but in this case, it makes a bowl that is as elegant as any other hard wood. This piece developed a small crack or “check” during the drying process. This was repaired by applying a brass inlay which is permanent to the wood. and adds a touch of elegance to the piece

The bowl is coated with four coats of food safe polyurethane finish so the bowl may be used as a serving dish as well as a display piece. If used, clean-up is done by a hand wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry. It is not dishwasher safe and is not microwavable. Also, it should not be used for extended storage. If used, wooden or plastic utensils should be used. With this finish, it is not necessary to apply any additional finish as needed with natural oil finishes.
