This bowl is turned from a piece of big leaf maple which grows only in the Great Northwest and not usually seen on the East Coast. The bowl is finished with 4 coats of food-safe polyurethane finish and may be used as a serving dish. This is not microwavable, not dishwasher safe and should not be used for overnight storage. It should be hand washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried. The finish does not renewing on an annual basis as with natural oil finishes so once dried, it can simply be put away.
