#1358 7 1/2" W X 2 1/2" H Olive Bowl

Olive is a wood that is not often seen although the grain and color of the wood present a warm glow. This piece is turned from wood I bought from a sawmill in California and it was expensive for the size of the blank I was getting. As seen in the photos, this bowl has a hole in the side from a knot that came out while I was turning the piece.

As with all my turnings, this bowl is coated with four coats of food safe polyurethane finish so the piece can be used. I suggest snacks or candy just as long as whatever is put in the bowl is larger than the hole. Otherwise, it makes a handsome display piece. If used, cleaning should be done with a damp cloth to avoid getting water caught in the rough edges of the hole. Any utensils used with this piece should be wooden or plastic.
