This bowl has great grain and spalting patterns and as it is finished with 4 coats of food safe finish, it can be used as a serving dish or simply as a display piece. If used with food, it should be hand washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried. Also, wooden or plastic serving utensils are highly recommended. It is not microwaveable, not dishwasher safe and should not be used for extended refrigerated storage. It does not need finish replenishment as with natural oil finishes.
