11.5"W X 4.5"D Ambrosia maple is simply maple that has stained by ambrosia beetles boring through the wood and creating the brown stains. Any holes left by the beetles have been cleared out and there are no beetles remaining. The holes have been filled and the bowl finished with food-safe finish so the bowl may be used as a serving dish. Wooden utensils are recommended to avoid damage to the finish. The bowl may be hand washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, dried and put away. It should not be used for any extended food storage.
